Reloading question

In CCI you want to use the magnum primers.

then that would be the 250's. I would tend to agree with Jake.

You may want to find out what load works best for you. you may find that a mag primer may work with such powders as 4350. if you wanted to go to a slower powder then 100 mag primers. laod a few of each and shoot through a crono and find out which is most accurate!

Good luck

How are you liking those 165s? I picked up some 180gr Nosler accubonds and still have some old 180gr SSTs that I loaded up a while ago. Sorry to hijack:o

I have done the same combo as what Yammerhammer was asking about. 4350 w/ Nosler 165 grain ballistic tips. It is a good combo, though I use Winchester Primers. I am starting to like the 150 grain ballistic tips w/ 4350better though, they are some flat shooters. The accubonds are a nice bullet as well. I haven't loaded any up for my 300s', though I have some 140 grain accubonds for my 270.

I have yet to try this set-up. I'm not looking for a .125 MOA @ 1k yrds. lol
I'm looking for a good 350-400yrd speed goat round. I'm thinking the 250's would work fine or maybe Fed 215's?

I always use 215M in my magnums. Speaking of speedgoats, Im working up a load for my 300Wby. 215m's, 83g of H1000 behind 210g VLD Bergers seated to 3.715. This load shows alot of promise, just needs a little tweaking. If I cant get it to 3/4moa then I will use my .257Wby. Its shooting 1/2 or less moa using H1000 and 115g VLD Bergers. If you havent tried Berger bullets do so. Havent had an animal take a step since switching from the hole poking Barnes TSX's.:beer;

in this case, I would agree with the magnum primers.

However, primers have different heat ranges and burn rates like powders do. So Stick to the recipie that is developed buy whatever powder/bullet/case mfg that did it. Just to be on the safe side. Stepping down is normally never a problem but going from a normal to mag primer can have consequenses in the safety dept but more likely so in accuracy.
