Refreashing the top end

did RKT drop in kit last season.forged pistons.no compression loss in 700 miles.
would recommend RKT drop in kit or direct replacement piston kit.

600 miles on a completely new motor that was replaced under warranty in jan. Pulled top end off and found a large crack in the jug and the pistons were super sloppy. Waiting to hear about warranty. prolly gonna do RKT top end if they do not cover new pistons.

great question

i got 1600 on my pro probably gonna let the warranty cover it when it goes
but would be nice to take a look in there and freshen er up
kinda worried it'll let loose at the bottom of a step hole this winter
( but that could happen anytime)

the rkt 858 sounded pretty sweet as an in between to mild stocker and turbo and not an arm and a leg i'm sure carls BB will be sweet but thats alot of $
of corse brads 1100 would be the sweetest :hail:
(how much can i get for a slightly used/abused kideny)

Here's an option you all might want to think about. Northstar Polaris in Preston ID, up the street from RKT, has a piston kit that uses different type of pistons, they shim the block a bit and a slight machining of the head, and a timing key. Big change over stock, with a proven pistons. Cheaper than an SLP pipe. Cost is $600 I think. I would do it but still have the warrenty. Worth checking out.

It seems that RKT is the chosen one so far . What made you decide on this kit over the others ?
Lets hear more on the Northstar Kit .

The Northstar kit is still in R&D, on the dyno as we speak. But not ready as of today I was just told. Maybe call them in a month or two. :face-icon-small-win

I have installed a few of MTKTK's Fix kit's in both the 800 CFI 2 and 4's and they are the real deal. When you first start the motor, you can hear how much quieter it is. You really notice how much more torque the motor puts out when in the deep snow.

MTKTK was the first aftermarket company to come out with an improved reliability kit/pistons and shim kit for the Dragon's CFI-4 800. The CFI-2 and CFI-4 use the same piston. Their kit's have been on the snow longer than anyone else. There are hundreds of dragon's with the fix kit and a few less Pro's, (the Pro has been better from better fueling) and I have not heard of any issues with them whatsoever.
