Referencing V.I.N. numbers

Does anyone know how to read these # 's . My 04 numbers end in 005 . My friends 03 fanner end in smaller numbers after the vin in 250 . Hopefully some dealers will chime in . I think a registry would be cool to see where our kin ended up on the continents .

Let's do this!

I think a registry is a great idea. It can help people find others around them to ride with, and just find out where all these machines are/how many were made each year. I'd be willing to start an excel spreadsheet if people want to post up their info, then I can post the spreadsheet upon completion. How does this sound>?

A Start Anyway...

I have added a page to my website to start a Hawk Owners Registry. To get there, go to my web page, ericegert.freei.me From the home page-->WINTER-->FELLOW HAWK OWNERS --> click the guestbook link. From there Sign my guestbook with your name, hawk model & year and VIN, and your location. I will take this information and post into an excel spreadsheet and post on my webpage at a later date once a decent amount of info is compiled. Let's do this!! Beeline you should be first since it was your idea!!

Thanks Eric. I like your idea. We'll be able to follow the life of each hawk, quality of its life, mishaps, and travels. As they become modified as well I.E. what it started life as.

I was looking at my 600's vs. my friends 503's #'s. I cant seem to see the difference . Doesnt seem to make much sense. The first few are the same.... 2B9SH...... . Two Boivins ( Alain & Denis ) 9 - don't know / Snow Hawk ,

Fifty vin #'s in Washington State.

It's tough to organize them all, by my count less than fifteen of the Washington group showed at Hawk Fest.

I'm sure this idea will grow in time as more see the value in keeping track.

How bout all of you on here start by making sure your profile is as filled in as you are comfortable with so others can contact you, and realize how close fellow riders are.

Organization within regions is a good thing, might make some friends for life.:)
