Reeds not sitting flat on block.

I have a turbo D7. I replaced the factory petals with boyesen.

Most of the outside petals aren't sitting tight against the block.
The inner ones seal and do the usual slight stick to the block.
The outside ones don't.
How much intake backwash if any will there be?
It always seems rich on the bottom

Reeds need to seal for bottom end to act right from my experience

You sure your cage isn't damaged causing the petals to sit a little funky? I have bent cages from both lean popping and rich popping on boosted sleds

Well other than a few tiny chips on the original petals i took out
They sat fine. These ones were like this when i put them in last year.
These ones two of the four outside petals sit aprox. .005" off the seat at the tip. I could check with a feeler gauge.
I've ran them for a year the way they are. Before that the sled was new to me and other issues i sorted out.

I'll install the originals again see how they sit now.
And either try another set of these or buy the VForce 3r cages.
I understand they work well with turbos now?

I have seen the Boyesen reeds many time not seat when new. After a little time they usually do.

At the same time we get the fewest boosted miles from Boyesen reeds, 400 miles at time. I will never run them again.

Stick with Vforce 3R or stock... IMO
