Reeds cleaning

Hey crew simple question please.....regarding the reeds...i had an intake boot situation to deal with this week and the reeds are fairly dirty.....u guys just clean the whole unit "carefully" with maybe a toothbrush and some hot soapy water? I imagine pretty much any solvent would damage em?

when do reeds need to be replaced? How long should they last?

i would assume you would get 2000 safe miles out of stock reed petals before there is any concern of chips or failure, maybe even an easy 2500 miles...

but i know on big bores and turbos for sure, they are replacing them around 1000miles for safe measure...

ill replace all my petals this summer as well.

Replacing the stock ones or the V-force ones? I have heard the V-force are prone to failure.

im referring to stock reeds and stock pedals...

i am not a fan of the VF3 reeds at all...over priced, prone to chip with little use, and very little if any gain over stock!

holy chit man...

i guess theres your answer...haha. but just an fyi, might wanna start looking into new ones, lol..

a turbo or big bore i wouldnt dare go over 1000miles personally, but stock...sure why not ;)
