i have a '10 800 dragon. was wondering if anyone has installed and or used the "enhancement kit" by redneck racing. is it as good as they say it is? any other product out there that may help prevent engine failures?

No disrespect but, c'mon man, do a search - multiple threads on this. Hell, just scroll down and you will find a wealth of info.

12V92, it never hurts to ask but the theory of operation of the enhancement kit sounds logical but to be honest it creates more heat with higher internal cylinder jug temperatures which is the biggest cause of failure of the 800 Polaris motors where the shake of the cylinder wall around the exhaust port gets too hot and distorts the shape of the cylinder and promotes excessive scoring & scuffing even with excessive cylinder wall clearance.

The enhancement kit also claims to produce additional horse power with more heat. If you know anything about basic engine operation the hotter the engine temps the less power the engine makes so then a cooler running motor makes more power. The only thing that the enhancement kit may truly help with in my opinion is by helping to avoid a possible cold seize but proper engine warm up will obviously also help to avoid this situation as well. Of course the enhancement kit only may help reduce the cold shot of coolant to the jug but it is possible but it may warm up slightly quicker once the sled has warmed up through it s 1st heat or warm up cycle.

The only real tested and proven kit to help make the motor last is the fix it kit from PMS Polaris which is made by Mtntk performance in ID. The only other advise is proper warm ups of at least 100 degrees before you start to ride your sled to avoid any possible cold seize which is where the colder coolant in the tunnel cooler gets pushed into the warm engine cylinders and can seize or scuff and even seize the piston in the cylinder due to cold contraction. I myself can not justify purchasing a product that has not been proven to work and when it is claimed to make more power with more heat.
