Long story short, Me and my ole man picked this trailer up for like 600$ a couple years ago knowing it needed some work but for the price, We were ok with it. Redid the lights and hubs on it last fall, planned on doing the deck this fall. Got home and its worse than I thought. has popped most of the screws. Any advice on materials to use? Any sealers that seem to hold up better than others? This thing gets abused, mud and rain all fall duck hunting with quads on it, then sleds all winter so I want to treat it with something that is going to hold up well. Thanks.

how old is that trailer? the deck has probably been on there since new, we had a flat deck trailer with 3/4" plywood on it painted and it lasted 5 years until we sold it, as far as i know its still on there. i would just get some plywood paint it up and put it on. then put box liner where your skis are so it doesnt tear up the plywood so much from your sleds.

use at least 3/4" ply wood, stain it, and when you put the bolts through the plywood use very large washers. we restain ours every year and weve had the same wood since 99' and it still looks almost new.

use 3/4 cdx plywood and keep it sealed with something like thompson's water seal. I would stay away from marine grades as you can afford to replace it a few times for the cost and as long as you keep it sealed it should hold up fine :beer;

i dont know how it works on plywood but i know on car hauler type trailors with decks made of 2x10s and such alot of people around here use boiled linseed oil (i think thats what its called) and it seems to seal pretty good on them.

Not sure on the age of it, I would guess between 10 to 15. Part of the reason it warped bad was during the fall it gets alot of use hunting being dragged from IF to BLKFT res for ducks and usually its pretty muddy and wet. Then with it being fall even if we wash it when we got home its too cool for it to really dry out then one hot day and bam it warps bad. One of the biggest thing I am looking for is a good sealer since a good sealer on it will prevent it from getting water logged. Sounds like good deck/fence sealer will do the trick. Thanks for the repplies. I think While I have it off Ill give it a once over with a wire wheel and paint it Also.

Well got on it today, Got the other half stripped and painted, just have the toungue area left to do that to. Sealed all the decking, and installed it. Heat sucked to work in but helped the sealer dry fast which was good cause I sprayed it on thick! Starting to come together just need to finish the front end and install the bases for the clamps in the deck. Should have her finished up next week some time.
