Red & White Anyone?

Talked to a couple people today that went up via Muddy Pass... said it was laid up well, and had some time in 3'+... got stuck a few times.

Thanks!!!

Headin' somewhere on Saturday, we ain't got squat down South...VP is closer but not sure what would be better. Where is Muddy Pass Road? We usually access R&W just North of Vail where the snowmobile rental people have their trailer just past the gate. I'm afraid if there is not enough snow and the gate is closed we are hosed.

:confused::confused::confused:

You're talking about red sandstone off the north frontage road. I'm heading there next week to check it out, should be good by then if not already. I was up at VP on monday after another storm and there is bottomless snow in spots, had to break through to ptarmigan and ended up turning around... Last night should have brought another 8" or so and things are looking good!

Thanks!!!

The gates open!

Piney River Ranch snowmobile tours....scotty mac and morgan, great people, great staff. I worked there for 3 years. If you are ever in trouble they will help out.

Thanks!!!

Oh, and R/W is good to go. I heard 3 feet too. I would stay away from the Beaver Ponds for now until it settles more. Getting stuck in there is no fun at all.

Muddy Pass - Go past Vail, Avon and Edwards. Take the Wolcott exit and head north on 131 for 3-4 miles. On the right side you'll see a turnoff for the dump. Don't take that. Take the very next right turn and that is Muddy Pass road. In the summer (and winter) you can take that road all the way to Red Sandstone road and Vail. Parking is better there and there is a lot more terrain that people do not frequent.

Thanks for all the updates guys!!
Yes, Red Sandstone Road, that's it.
The snow in my neck-of-the-woods is lackin' badly.:(
It'll come though....if you guys ever want to venture South/South Central I'd be glad to assist.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!:beer;

Scotty mac here, yes trailhead is open. Ranch is open for burgers and beer, come warm up open 10 am to 5 pm 7 days a week. Lots of pics on our web pineyriverranch.com or pineyriveradventures.com Had groomer out twice getting a good base, off trial snow was up to doors in cat, ye ha! We are going to try to groom up to red and white before weekend. Thanks for giving our guides a break on trail you never know when you might need us. We have an awsome crew, avy and woofer trained. Have some patients on drive up to park. Parking can be a pain if theres a lot of traffic just park and turn around at end of day. Remember your on a sled you dont have to have front row parking. Thanks for the wave, as you head up past our base. enjoy you could be working!!:D
