Red lakes?

Was anybody there this weekend? And how was the snow depth?

Still riding blue lakes it's ok. A few creeks are opening up!

If you were at Red Lake last year, you know that Cal F&G disallows trailer parking by Red Lake. Now, just after New Year, the FS has posted a mid-season snowmobile closure for Forestdale road up to the divide. Apparently the road is closed to sleds until Blue Lakes snopark gets too thin. So Red Lake, at the moment, is pretty bad for staging. I saw warden stationed there last year doing 'no-trailer' enforcement. I've heard that this year Alpine Sheriff is checking the road...
Think I'm gonna hit eastside 108/Leavitt tomorrow instead. The snow might be old, but at least there's more than 3 ft of it. I'm starting to get the sinking feeling that we won't see anything deeper than what we gots rite now...

I have never been to red lake to sled just in my truck. Didn't know about the parking. Probably save me some $$$$.
