Recieved my Warranty letter from BRP.

Yea got mine too. Already had mine replaced last season when it snapped. Pretty funny how BRP denied and denied there was a problem and then admitted it was only a small precentage and now its a full blown recall. I doubt if anyone will get over 3000KM on a original shaft welded or not.

Got mine in the mail yesterday. My dealer indicated that they are on backorder until Mid November at the earliest.

i called our dealer here in Mn today and they said the states that actually get snow will have preference to the drive shafts. the earliest they are expecting them here is dec 26. judging from the tone of the voice of the person i talked to i'll be just hoping for the best when we head west the end of january.

that's why i am going 4 stroke i was a doo man & getting tired of there problems!every year it's something else. my 06 rev 800 second ride on it took out the crank the last doo i had that work flawless was a 97 summit670

I got my notice in the mail yesterday as well. What I find interesting is that BRP is taking care of the "states that get snow earliest" first when they should be approaching it by sled model not "state". IMO, Summit owners should get a replacement driveshaft 1st then the short track sleds should be taken care of. I'm not saying that the short track people should have to wait until mid-winter to get their driveshaft replaced but BRP should be taking care of the Summit owners NOW and the flatland sleds in late Oct/Nov. It is not where you live but the sled you ride. My 154" has never been ridden locally(I live in MN) except for loading into the trailer to head out west to the mountains. I KNOW I am not the only one in this situation as I would be curious to know the percent ratio of mountain sleds sold to people that live in the "flatlands".....

Just my opinion.

I like how they tell you to stop riding it immediately, like why didn't you just fix it immediately. Any lawyer types know if you loss legal rights, due to this letter? If it pucks, am I still covered under warranty, or SOL due to the legal notice? Imagine having a brand new blue 09, and being told you can't ride it until January.

Well I think the first people to get the fix should be people with Quick or fast in the forum names. They should get them Quick or fast.

we've got a thinker on our hands here!! i absolutely agree.

i'd be interested in knowing that number too. it's probably not as high as we think but none the less a pretty substancial ammount.

I'm riding mine!!

Got mine too.

I think the local dealer is going to do a priority sequence which is fair.

If your shaft is broke, your going to get first shaft but if your still okay then you move up the ladder.

Thats cool. Mine is still good.

I hope my replacement gets here before the snow flies because I'm riding mine too. I didn't get an apology letter in the mail when I went over the bars when my blew. They didn't even acknowledge the problem last year...why stop now.

ski-doo doesn't honor their warranty very well......they deny, they procrastinate, they say you're the only one with a problem, if there's not 15 dozen or more threatening legal action, they sit on their hands....apparently their bean-counters and lawyers do all their thinking for them, and we know neither of them have a moral compass....so ride with lots of cats and poos' so that you have someone to tow you out, you will need to....i did....and ski-doo wouldn't fix the sled, had to take care of it myself.....11 grand for what?...250 miles on it and they won't honor their warranty?...nice bunch of folks in eastern canada, french perhaps?....never had a french product work worth a crap....what do you think ski-doo?, doing what's right too big of a concept for you?...or is it just the money
