rebuilding a 4 place

I am looking at buying a used Enclosed 4 place trailer, a Charmac 27, with 20 foot walls. I plan on towing it from CA to AK. I figure that I should get the hubs rebuilt, new brakes, and tires. How much should I expect to pay to make the trailer safe for my trip?

Depends a lot on what a place charges or if you are going to do some yourself.

I usually get the best tires money can buy cause of the amount of gravel and dirt I drive and that's usually around 100 bucks give or take per tire.

As for the hubs and brakes, I have no idea what they would charge for that down there, since I've seen reapirs very so much due to locations and what not. But I would take a SWAG and guess you'll be looking somewhere in the neighborhood of 350 bucks.

Real hard to tell till you know the price of the bearings. brakes usually are pretty cheap.

But I would take a serious look at the hubs and see if all they need is repacked. If the service is kept up on them they usually last a long time, but I can understand having the piece of mind for a trip back home too.

Take some Parts with you.

Find out what bearings and Seals it takes gets some and always have them with you.
If you can afford it get an entire Hub bearing and all, all ready to go. Carry some basic's Light bulbs, Light tester wire, tape. Carry a spare plug to go on the Trailer.
Two good spare tires will give you piece of mind.
If you get in a bind at 2:00am some Wally Worlds carry pre mounted trailer tires.
