Rear Suspension Shock Stiffness

What exaclty does the stiffness of the rear shockl(s) do on the 1M Sled? Ive never thought to really play with it but noticed that my sled sits pretty high up at the back (stiffer suspension) whereas other 1M's ive seen sit lower down.

What does this do other than I guess making the ride rougher on trails and not bottoming out on big jumps? Does it make it more/less susceptible to trenching or harder to carve or sidehill?

Also what does the front ski pressure do exactly? More pressure = harder/easier to turn?

I was just reading the Holz website on re-valving the shocks and saw them mention all this.

My sled does seem harder than most to carve and sidehill with, maybe I should look at reducing the suspension stiffness to see if that helps.

i am a big guy so i crank my rear springs to the highest rate to keep the sag out. i dont notice it make mine hard to sidehill. but I did turn up the pressure of my front shock inside the skid and it has made my steering for trail riding more dificult. my skis dont seem to have the bite they had before. I really have to be forward on the seat and lean alot to corner on the trail. Still learning the powder stuff but I have noticed a huge improvement in my ability since watching videos this off season.

The front rear skid shock when tightened will take away ski pressure, causing less ski control. I have my rear skid shock set about a 1 1/2 turns past contact with the adjuster to the spring. I also use two limiter straps like a KK to keep it from stretching as far as the single design for less lift when climbing. Rear shock is a re-valved zeropro from a M7 and has helped the ride and ski lift.

Misread posts

Oh crap I misread these posts, I thought tighening the front rear shock would increase ski pressure. Mine was pretty much as tight as it can get cos I thought having it loose was causing my sag issues but I think thats now been nailed in as the rear rear shock on its way out.

Thanks for the tips!!
