rear suspension botteming out over bumps today need help

i hit some big bumps today as the trails were a little bumpy and man did my back take some hits..my rear bottomed-out quite a few times and really hard ... is there a quick cheap fix i need to know about as this doesnt seem right the sled should be made to take a few dips and bumps with-out doing this..i dont think there is a problem with the supension and i am around 195lbs so not too big as to cause an issue..thanx mark

2 things you can try...

If you have a rear adjustable shock, you can turn the clicker to a stiffer setting, this will slow the travel of suspension in the bumps. (see pic below) If you don't, you can turn the plastic spring cams to the next stiffer setting... this will make it ride a little stiffer, but will also help limit suspension sag and the "bottoming".

I have mine set to the center and it only bottoms on the big bumps.

I'd make sure all the pivot points move freely without any binding. If any of the pivot points have corrosion and/or gunk inside causing binding, the suspension won't rebound properly after compressing causing it to bottom out very easily.
