Rear skid pad / wheels for aluminum trailer

Does anyone have any recommendations for skid pads / wheels for the rear of an all aluminum enclosed trailer? I was thinking about just fabricating up a set of aluminum or plastic "pads" that would go under the rear corners of the trailer to protect it. Then just replace those as needed if they wear out. Or am I better off finding a very small set of wheels that bolt on? Trailer is a 7x25 and this is the first trailer that I have ever needed pads for some I'm not sure what's the best option to go with.

I looked at those on etrailer and was just thinking about a set of those "mini" wheels and we just put holes in them and bolt them on. The bolt on wheels they sell just seem to tall. I was thinking something that is only a couple inches tall at most is all we need. I think the trailer will be fine most of the time but I happened to hit the bottom going into a friends new house this past weekend. I was able to get out without hitting by adjusting how I drove out but I thought as a safety measure going forward it might be a nice idea.

I'm thinking just a 4" wide, 8" long x 1/2" thick aluminum bar at each back corner with chambered ends and the fastener heads receded into it.

I figured I would ask to see if anybody else was using anything.

I am using abs plastic. I only drug the bottom once and found out quick u don't want to that with a aluminum frame. Haven't put it to the test but looks like it will work. The bad thing about the wheel is u loose so much clearance from the wheels. I only lost 1/2 from the plastic.

I was planning on welding some 3/8" aluminum plates to the corners but I like the plastic idea. Might try that flat if I can find a solid way to mount it.

I raided the shop scrap bin last night and found some 1" thick 4" aluminum bar. So I cut a couple 8" long pieces and will miter the ends and recess the faster heads in and then attach those to the back corners. Should work great as a safety bumper just in case.

Indeed it should work well.

Why bolt and not weld?
