Rear shock from another snowmobile to switchback assault?

Hi I have bent my rear shock on my assault -12, is there any other shock that will fit from another snowmobile, i have found that the rear shock is 16,71in extended and 10.96in compressed.
I was planning to ride this weekend so Im just looking for a temporary solution.

I used an hpg out of a skidoo last year for 400 miles. Worked better than the walker it replaced. Had to do some custom work to the bushings to make them work.

People will say u need the exact same stroke. Not true The hpg was a quarter inch different (longer) both ways and nothing ever bent


Roommate also used a ride fx out of a dragon rmk in his 12 switchback assault with similar results.


Find a similar stroke shock, mod the bushings if need be, check your clearances if the shock body is different, then ride

Also where are u. might be able to help with a shock

Thanks for your helpfulness, I live in Sweden so it would take too long to get the shock but thanks anyway. From which ski-doo did you get the shock?
I have found a shock that is 17,3in so I will try it to work, but I would still appreciate if you would post any other tip that you have.
