rear rack removal

anybody who has taken off the rack on the back of the tunnel behind the seat, and exposed the black hoses for the coolers, have you had any trouble with those hoses being exposed. was the rack easy to remove?

I've been running mine that way for the last 2 years with no problems. Easy to remove, take off the sides and drill out the rivets holding the rest of the rack

I took mine off about 4 years ago on my 03 escape as well. I did leave the cross bar just behind the seat on it though. I always end up backing fuel and that keeps the can off the seat. The reason I did it in the first place was because now I can pack any 5 or 6 gallon can I want, and not have to worry about finding something that fits in the rack. Never a problem with the exposed hoses.

that is a good idea with the cross bar behind the seat. I went with the Mountain Addiction gas rack set up after the pic was taken
