Rear plastic removal

I've seen pictures of the rear plastic removed on some of the hawks. I'm putting one of sledr2's gas tanks holders (among many other parts!) and as was thinking of removing the whole thing - does anyone do this? If so, do you have any snow entering around the gas tank, getting on the clutches?

We need snow!

I know that Cj removed his tail section but he did it by trimming the plastic off his # plate and cutting right along the seat. I think it looks good but I'm going to wait until I jack mine up before i cut it up. Sleder2 has a Hawk with a dirt bike seat and it also looked good I rode it at Hawk fest and did not see any snow Issues around the Tank on his either.
