rear coil over for SBA ??

I'm wondering if there's any chance of swapping the rear rear coil over setup from a RMK assault or the 2014 Indy 550 144". Into the SBA 144"??

The RMK assault looks like the torque arm mounts differently. But the rmk shock might be useful for this swap, its the same type Walker as on the SBA.

Anyone know how long the rear shock is on the RMK assault??

There is little to zero info on the 2014 550 right now... but its rails and tunnel look the same as my 13 SBA. Im thinking / hoping That the arms from the 550 and the shock from the RMK. Would make this mod happen!!

Look at the back arm kits from Timbersled and Kmod. You'll probably be ahead on cost and get better quality parts that are lighter.

MH.

strength of the weldments and overall strength of the arm plus shock mount geometry.

If it were posssible, after all these years of the torsion spring rears on the Poo, DOO, Cat, YAMI... you would have seen a kit for that a long time ago.

.

Also, Your front arm is shorter than the RMK's... so the rear of the RMK would not work either.

No simple solution. ... and Many have looked for one.

Good luck.

MH,
Perhaps you could offer commentary as to why you think the 144" 550's get a coil-over (RMK ?) type skid and the 144" 600's and 800's retain the tried and true torsion spring rear skid design for 2014. Weight? Simplicity? Bump absorption? A possible view of the future?
Thanks,

Plain and simple... the torsion spring skids ride better down the trail... and that comes from the engineers at Polaris when I visited and asked the same question.

The factory polaris coilover is a mountain specific skid.

So the new 550 indy 144's are the entry level mountain sleds now? Why wouldn't they put the coil over in the 600RMK144 also?

I think that timbersled make a back arm kit for the switchback assault. It would probably be Superior to a coil spring conversion.

Not shown on their website but you probably need to call them for availability
