re-tracked mountain max

Picked up my mountain max from the shop the other day. Replaced the stock track with a 151" challenger, extrovert drivers and tracksusa rails. The shop rebuilt the chain case with new bearings on both sides of the drive and jack shaft and drive chain. Everything else looked healthy, now it's on me to get the new tunnel extension on and swap on some viper trailing arms to lift up the front end.

Pray for snow!

Awesome Sled man, I had a Mountain Max when I was younger!! Nothing pulls harder than the Mountain Max triple and awesome sound too! Its a great sled!!

what kind of seat are you running there, look good!

Looks like a seat off a Yamaha Vector to me!!

Thanks guys,
It's a rx1 seat. I cut about the front 1/3 off and made some mounting tabs that catch the fuel tank studs. A buddy at work helped me make the rear struts. I made flat plates that would bolt up to the mounting studs on the back where the old j-hook bolts grabbed. Lighter than stock, not the cleanest finish trimming the foam back but I normally have a tank bag on it and that covers the gap. Got my viper trailing arms on, looks way better with the front end up higher in the air.

People who say triples have no torque have never ridden a yamaha! This thing feels way stronger than the 120hp its putting out. Can't wait to get that new track into some deep snow. Read about how much better the sled is with a 151 challenger, can't wait to try it myself.

seat mods

I did a seat mod also but wanted to keep the seat lower for hoping over when in the steeper terrain. I simply took the seat off and cut the storage area off, tok it to a upholstery guy and for $50 bucks it looks good. I am tall with lanky arms so transitioning from sitting to standing when I am getting tired is a pain but easy to transfer my body around with low seat

Cool looking seat. I haven't found that my seat is too high yet. If I do tap it with my toe, I'm not noticing it yet. I do appreciate being a little bit higher when I'm sitting down on the trail getting out to the woods. With the low squishy seat, I could barely sit down and ride it, even with the stock bars it was awkward at best.

Have you thrown away the transfer bars out of the rear skid yet? Best mod I ever did to my ex's Mmax. Well, that and adding a 151 polaris series iv track. Totally different sled. I believe it was either hartman or mpi that sells the strap kit that replaces the bars. Very cheap and drop weight. Win all the way around.
