PJ reported 48 inches

Thank gawd....seems some were nearing suicide in Northern Colorado.

I honestly was sinking chest deep in fresh and not touching dirt.

More snow coming in tonight too. After tomorrow, I'm off the rest of the week. So I'll charge up the GoPro.

And my chest is right about where your head is Ryan, you better not go, you will drown. ;)

Short joke. OHHHH snap!!!

To be fair, we better add M8VOHKMAN to the fray. :face-icon-small-ton

But seriously, it was deep and no base. If you stopped, you were stuck. Everything that was 2' above last weekend is now 12" below the surface. Be safe. I got uber lucky yesterday, only because my skis were in the air. If they hadn't been, they would have slid right under a fallen snag and stopped me cold.

Hi gang, I've got some friends that live part time (every weekend and a day or more if they can swing it) at Rabbit Ears Village near top of Muddy Pass. They said 18 inches out of this last storm, and rode RE area Sunday. Snow still needs to settle and no bottom. He's got a new Retro Poo and still hasn't had a chance to really see what it will do. Strange snow year everywhere including back east, and out west.
Watch for Avy. It looks like any hill over 20% might run.

Avy Beacons rentals around Buffalo Pass/walden

Heading up to Buf Pass in a few days and was wondering if anyone in the area rented avy beacons? Thanks

Awesome....please, please ride prepared. Avy conditions are bad, make sure you survey the area and do your best to use your head.

Live to ride another day...

Matt E. took that Dave. I was up there yesterday morning and visibility was horrid so we stayed in the trees and played. I knew where I was and I could hear guys riding that ridge for quite a while. Then this morning as I was driving up I could see massive sidehill lines cutting across the entire ridge line. That slide is right at the north end of the ridge.

Seriously people, how many have to get hurt or die for you to figure out that hillclimbing is not in the cards this year. RE/Buff has received nearly 4-5 feet in the last week and that is sitting on top of 24-36" of VERY UNSTABLE hoar. There is plenty of very technical riding all over the Ears/Buff and you don't even have to go near the steep.

Today was the BEST day so far. I rode the hardest I have in a very very long time and taught myself some pretty cool stuff. 60 miles and not one rock or stump was hit. It's nice to finally get some good riding in, even if I had to wait till 1/28/12 to get it. Found some really sweet new spots and I'll be feeling it for the next few days. Pushed it and pushed it hard. Had a blast!

Now, it stayed cold up there today but the sun beat down and paired with the wind the snow changed by the end of the day. It got heavier, more settled and developed yet another crust. We get one more solid 15" dump and it should be close to land mine free. The avy conditions aren't going to go away this year so please please please be safe. USE YOUR HEAD!

And I hear your junk looks like a clit..:face-icon-small-coo That would explain all the over-compensation though:face-icon-small-con:face-icon-small-ton

!

Somebody thinks he's funny. How's Hawaii?

I thought it was! :face-icon-small-hap Hawaii is where the work is for now. Shoot, salt water bugs my nose, so I don't have much use for the place! lol Be back Friday and looking to ride some sweet pow. Be careful out there.
