Setting up a set of weights on my Nytro MTX to run low elevation. WOW, are those steel 17.2mm rivets hard!!!

I had a set of SLP MTX weights (which also used rivets) on my last sled. Put them in, pound down other end until flat/flush. However, not finding that to be the case with these!

Couple of questions before I go any further.....How do these rivets rest in the 8FS00 weight? One side has a bevel. It appears the head of the rivet rests in the bevel. Is this correct or should I put them in the other way? Second, what is the trick to getting these things to flatten? Do you need to use heat?

Any suggestions would we GREATLY appreciated!!

Thank you in advance!

Steve

NO you don't use heat The bevel side is for the head of the weight. You only need to get them to stop moving in the holes so no chance of vibrating out and causing damage Just put the head on a hard steel surface and use a hammer on the other end swelling them to fit:eek:

Thank you!

Thats what I thought but I wanted to be sure. Guess I'll have to grab a bigger hammer!!
