Re: 05 800H0 rev limiter

I don't believe so. My 05 never hit it if there was one. The 08 has one and it's a PITA!

I didn't think so.

I am getting a really wierd power surge at WOT while pulling hard. I never tach past 8000, but it pulls real hard until about 8000 and then starts this surging thing. Kind like a rapid Waa, Waaa, Waaa. Let off a llittle bit and it goes away.

I have checked DPM and lines, Changed pistons and rings, rebuilt clutches, changed plugs and wires, rejeted, tried different springs in clutch, different clicker position. ?????

Sell and buy polaris?

Didn't you ask this question once before?
At any rate, go to dootalk and search for "zoomies" and "pipe surge" and "rah rahs".
Happy reading.

Joe's got a bit of a write up here: http://www.mxzx-revzone.com/article/calibrating-112.asp

My 05 was doing it, I tried everything. What finally got it to pull clean were: new spring tower cap, little more pin weight, loosened the rave springs. I can't explain why this combo made it work because I had tried them all seperately. Reading through all the posts it seems as if there a few different combinations of things that will make a sled act this way.

Yes, I read the write up. When I asked before, I was thinking it was an electrical issue. I am pretty sure I am dealing with Pipe Surge now.

What part are you talking about "Spring tower cap" I don't see this name in the parts breakdown? Are you refering too Spring Cover Assy #4170015400
and Bushing #417009204? $68 bucks

Thanks, for your help.Crasher

I couldn't remember if it was you asking about the surge or not. Doesn't matter anyway.
At any rate 417007500 is the one I used. If you decide to give it a try just buy the complete cap, I've never heard of anyone just replacing the bushing and having it stay in place.
This surge thing these motors do made me drink a few beers on the stool in my garage. I can't say why the combo mentioned above made it work, maybe I just got lucky. I even had head/jugs of looking for something, and finding nothing.
I'd verify the spring cap fit and then load the snot out of it/play with the powervalves.
I'm convinced it's in how the motor gets loaded up.
Good luck

I got it pretty well under control this weekend. I added weight to the pins and dropped to clicker 1. Pulled real well but kind of down on RPM from what I was used to. I liked to run around 8000 with the old pistons and flaking rings. These new pistons seem to like 7600-7800.

Thanks again,

Crasher
