Raze motorsports nitrous?

Has anyone tried the new Raze nitrous system? Im currently running the Iceage kit and haven't had much luck with it yet. Running a 14' yz450f and having battery issues with the iceage kit. I like how much technology Raze has put into there system. Seems like a legit set up. Any real world feed back yet??

Like you, it looks awesome and i have spoken with them a few times. Everything they say seems bang on.... have not riden one yet and have not spoken to anyone who has but them... can't wait to try it out and also hear good old rider experiences from others....

Hey guys. We have shipped our first Ninja Kits out to a few dealers that are putting them on shop bikes. Currently we have the kit dialed with the YETI track system for either KTM or YZ 450's. PM me for more info. However we ran into a minor issue with the Timbersled. The Timbersled chassis transfers much more vibration from the engine and we are currently working through this issue. The Ninja Backup kit rips. One of our test riders had a 450 KTM with stock gearing and the Ninja Backup going 73 MPH (this was on hard pack, with data logged GPS, yes he is crazy) We will have testimonials and videos up as soon as we can.

So i did end up drinking the Raze coolaid. When i was dealing with them before my purchase they were great to deal with. Customer service was excellent and they answered all of my questions without delay. Since the Ninja nitrous kit wasn't yet available for the YZ's with the timbersled skid I went ahead and ordered the Wingman kit for my YZ. Talking with Chris he told me i could order the Wingman and have it flashed for the nitrous so i would be ready to run soon as the nitrous was available and all i would have to do is plug it in. So i put in the notes on the order form to flash the ECU for the near future use of there Ninja nitrous kit. The order was done and the payment was sent. The day after my order was placed i tried to get ahold of Raze to confirm that the ECU would be flashed for the nitrous and to get a conformation email sent to me of my order with a receipt and tracking number. I couldnt get ahold of anyone for over a week. I called the shop numerous times and sent emails with our reply. When i did finally did get ahold of someone about my order they sent me a email with the tracking information only but it said nothing about my order details or if it was confirmed that the box was flashed for the nitrous like i had requested. The same day i got the email was the day it was delivered. I opened the box and there was no receipt or packaging slip. So i have no idea if this box is nitrous ready. Its been over two weeks since i placed my order and ive tried to contact Raze multiple times. When i have talked to someone they just take my name and number and tell me they will call me right back. I still have not heard back from them.

I really like what Raze has going on, they seem like they are on the ball with what the snowbike market is looking for. But.. there customer service needs some serious work. With the amount of money that i have already spent with them and the amount that im lined up to spend for there nitrous system you would think they would have there ducks in a row ready to do some business.

I have been noticing and experiencing this with almost all aftermarket companies for snowbikes and snowmobiles. Its a tough deal because many of these are so small and privately owned that I feel they have too much going on. Between them out testing and trying to keep up with forums and phone calls, etc it seems they are too thinned out. But you get a bunch of customer service reps hired and now the products prices will have to go up. So it seems if you want to go with a bunch of aftermarket parts you have to go in knowing the risks of getting things done timely......This is why I am now trying to remain more stock if possible so I atleast can be out riding and don't have to worry.

I get that they are busy guys, im not doubting that at all. But if your in business and ready to make some sales you should probably have some means of dealing with customers. To a lot of people good customer service is just as important as a good quality product. It doesn't take long to get a bad reputation from poor customer service.

Now with that said.. I do have some positive feed back about the Wingman kit and there heated handle bars.

So before i made this purchase i was running a thermobob 3 and used the GYTR controller to to tweak my timing and fuel. My motor is bone stock except for a full fmf exhaust and a pod outterwear intake. I had the bike dialed in pretty good. It ran hard and had no problem getting around in deep pow. My water temps stayed fairly warm in pow conditions around 140-150 degress. I know thats a little low but even with a PST engine jacket in 2-3' of snow thats about the best it would do.

Installing the Raze thermostat was straight forward and pretty much the same steps as the thermobob install. Routing the lines for the heated handle bars took me a couple tries to find the perfect placement. But it went without an issue. One thing that i dont like is with the Raze thermostat you can not install a trailtech tto water temp sensor. I took mine out of my thermobob and went to put it in the Raze and it will hit the spring on the inside of the thermostat before its threaded in tight. The body of the Raze is a lot smaller then the thermobob. So i ended up riding last weekend not knowing what my water temps are. I ordered a tto sensor bung that splices into the coolent line just above the thermostat so i will be able to keep an eye on my temps.

The ECU is a straight forward install also, just plug and play. No install issues. Soon as i hit the snow with it and started to play i did notice better throttle response and snappier revving motor. The bike ran clean and seemed to be spot on with the tuning. It seemed to start easier and when it would idle the exhaust smell was really lite and seemed to be a lot leaner. I ride with guys that are on the same bike as me without the wingman and we switched back and forth and the same thoughts were had about it. But.. the overall power didnt feel to be much better then the other bikes not running the wingman. Definitely snapper throttle response and faster revving but the overall HP on the top end did not seem to be much better if at all then the other yz's in our group. Im pretty sure Raze's claim to 11HP gain for the wingman is against a 100% bone stock bike not running a thermobob or any kind of additional fuel and timing tuning. If you are already running a thermobob and have your fuel/timing dialed in pretty good that 11HP gain will not be there. But it definitely makes a difference with throttle response and a snapper revving engine. It was also a noticeable gain in fuel mileage.

There heated handle bars are no joke!! They are absolutely amazing! I had to turn the valve down to about half open because they get so toasty warm! I highly recommend the heated handlebars!

I am sure that the claimed HP gains are against a bone stock motor. That is typical. I have found that the small increases in peak HP, that can be found, are harder to notice in the snow. Especially deep pow. Just to much track spin to really feel. IMHO

Agreed the Heated barz are awesome, no worries about battery drain, I have installed 4 sets and more to come.I also used the Thermobob just so the TTO temp sensor wood fit, Whats needed is a simple extension the move the sensor outward a tad.

For the guys having trouble getting a temp sensor to work for your Raze Heated Bar kit! Do this for the Raze Thermostat and Trail Tech temp gauge. Male Female/Female Brass T Fitting cost 3 dollars.
