rave valve question

ok i got my new engine in the mail the other day and everything looked good until i noticed there was a extra sensor on the head..... do i need to switch the head? or can i just leave the sensor on the top of the head unplugged??

and another question, can i delete the system just by pinching the lines that go to the pod on the top of the valve? or should i use my old valves from the non rave engine....

any help would be great.
thanks, mike

I would be nice to know what your working on exactly. But seeing that you must have a 07 motor because of the lines going to the rave valve, I would not cap those off they are needed. If the engine you took out did not have this style rave you might want to hold up a minute and make sure you have the right motor. IMO

the chassis is a 2004 summit x and the engine is a 2005 800 HO out of a mxz renegade

my chassis isnt set up for it as far as i know and the ecm signals the valves to open up using engine vaccum from a soliniod.

i think ill just switch the exhaust valves out on my old head.

Uhhh, the 05 800HO motor did not have a knock sensor or vacuum raves. You may have an 06 800HO Ptek?

Yep, and you can unbolt the sensor and remove it. That bolt does not go all the way through the head.

ok

OK, another question guys! i have been looking at these valve assebly before i was putting them in and i notice there a spring on one side (clutch side cylinder)

whats this spring for? reutrn spring?

why is there only 1??

Not sure what you mean....non rave engine?? If it has exhaust valves, it's a R.A.V.E. Rotax Adustable Variable Exhaust

both enignes i have have them.... they are under the black cap over the exhaust valve and it seams like both engine only had 1 and that was under the clutch side.
