RAVE Valve cleaning

Do you ever need to clean the RAVE valves. If so to what extent. I took mine out and the paddle that goes into the cylinder has hard carbon buildup on it.

My sled started loading up pretty noticeably at the top end and it feels like there is a sock in the pipe, was wondering if the cleaning the RAVE valve would help.

I appreciate your comments.

yes they do need to be cleaned.

i take mine to a SOFT wire wheel (takes less time and effort) than using a hand held brass brush and carb cleaner.. makes them look like new.

I also clean the cylinder with a rag around a pipe cleaner and some carb cleaner. Make sure to rotate the piston out of the way so you dont hit it. I would also run a vaccum next to it while cleaning to help prevent any crud from getting into the cylinder.
