Raptor tripple rate springs???

I have been running the proto sets since last spring. Pretty damn happy. with them

Obviously the 16 kit with the TSS really sucks the the bumps up as is, but they still add another level of smooth to the kits. For older kits, they add some major anti bottoming which helps a ton on the kits without the spring loaded bump stops.

For the $125 its not a bad upgrade for the kits IMO.

I agree with Wheel House. Nice plush ride with better bottoming resistance. They seem sensitive to adjustment, too stiff and it will buck a little bit.

They look good too! White stuck out like a sore thumb on my set-up.

They definately are, if you over tighten them you basically go through the soft intial rate and right into the 240# rate(stock TS is 200) so they get a bit harsh. But with that little bit of 180# inintial rate they are so plush! When I throw a leg over the bike everything just feels so much more lively then my old stuff. Doesn't feel like saddling up on a 2x4!

Almost forgot how good the black springs look in the kit compared to the white.

I think those springs might be the last and only mod I do to my TS kit before I send it down the road. I've pretty much come to the conclusion that there is no point sinking any more money into this kit, except for better springs.

SO what's the conclusion???? PRO's vs Con's

Nick, so the rates must be 180/210/240? Are there any plans for something slightly stiffer?
As I recall them they are 180 240 280. verifying with the guys from raptor as we speak.

It is the same spring as they use on the pro rmk front track shock which they also offer in a "heavy" package so a stiffer version may be available, again, awaiting a reply on this stuff. Will report back ASAP

Raptor

Hey thanks for the feedback on our products! The spring in question is a 125/202/280 and works really well in most applications be it Mtn and or trail riding. We have several different rates along with transition points that we use here on all our springs for testing then it's just a matter of what one we pick for production.

In the event you guys have questions let us know we would be happy to field a couple emails or calls for that matter that's what we're here for and we have no issue with good and bad feedback so let us have it! I personally have four snowbike kits and three snowbikes and they're all fantastic and we finally have snow here to ride right out the back door!! Thanks again, Jake

I just ordered a set of these as well! can't wait to receive them.

Only feedback so far is damn i hate using UPS for shipping across the border (these are heading to St. John's, newfoundland) as they ding us big time on brokerage fees :( Would of been much nicer if shipped via USPS.

Otherwise, I think these will be an awesome upgrade to my 2015 ST kit! (Also did the new track and TSS).

We have mostly trail riding and/or low snow level's here @ sea level so I should notice a great improvement in small bump feel. Will report back later!

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you are asking but on the spring front I have bottomed my kit so many times I can't count. A couple of weeks ago I hit so hard it jammed my back and it hurt instantly right while we were riding which is never good, usually it takes a day to get sore. I think these springs will be the answer.

If this is what you are asking as for the rest of the kit IMO its had its day. The first issue for me is the weight, lets face it the TS is the fat kid compared to CMX and Yeti so again for me it needs to go on a big diet. My kit is a 2013 with all the necessary updates but I haven't done the track or TSS. For me by the time I do those things I might just as well sell it and start over. I've had my *** kicked by guys running the Yeti ski so the TS ski has to go, end of story. The final deal breaker for me is the flex and chain drive vs belt drive which also goes to weight reduction. When you sit a TS kit next to either a CMX or Yeti it comes up short IMO, it was a great invention and I've loved every minute on it but I wont be buying another one unless its a completely new and improved design vs add on and update after update. I think the 2015 design was a step backwards just look at the fact that you need to notch a $1000.00 track to make it fit, I mean c'mon really, and its a PITA to run a cooler because of the integral fuel can which I don't personally like.

Sorry for getting off topic just answering the question I think, back to the springs I do think they look awesome and I will be ordering a set just to help my body out a bit if nothing else. Money well spent again JMO.

just got my springs and wonder what's the easy way to swap these?

Do you have to remove the track, or can you just release tension and unbolt the arms to get the shock out?

Before I haul it all apart I'd like to hear of tricks to make it easy :)

got the rear spring changed no problem by pulling out the whole arm as you suggest.

the front one, arm came out without much problem but I've having issues getting the cross bar off the bottom shock mount.

Will be trying to heat it up a bit and hammering it out in a few hours. Other than that, this is fairly straight forward!

A little difficult to line things back up once putting the suspension back in, but not horrible. (yet! we'll see how the front goes back in, hehe)

thx!

I believe it's a plastic bushing in there, so take it easy with the heat. Mine came out with a couple solid hits.

raptor springs

did the upgrade. much better performance in chop but i thought they bottomed easier. haven't made any adjustments yet. install wasn't bad; about an hour.

What do you weigh? Lt or St? I am considering these but I don't want it to bottom. Have you stiffened the forks? Seems that transfers more weight to rear.

around#200 with gear. 2014 yz450 with 2015 LT. Stiff fork springs.
