Ramp suggestions?

Hello I am looking to buy a ramp to load my sled in my truck and am looking for suggestions on any. My truck is lifted and the tailgate open sits at about 46 inches off the ground. I am trying to look for one that is a bit on the longer side. Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,
Levi

Get the longest ramp you can. My '93 stock f-350 sits a little taller than a regular truck and my ramp is short, (6' I think) and with the short track (133.5) on my Polaris XLT I spin out if I don't get a good run at it. I took an old bedliner I got at the dump and cut the bed of it into strips that I lay down on the ramp to help the skis up. This helps a lot if I can't lower the angle of the ramp by getting the front end of the truck up. It would be better if I could afford a longer ramp with plastic runners for the skis built in. I just have the one sled to haul, until my boys get big enough to ride their own and I can get a trailer I'll make due.

Homemade Ramp & Roll kit - nice thing is it stays under the sled so no ramps flopping around. I am not sure if it will work well for a long track mountain sled but I plan to build something like this in the future.

You drive onto the ramp. Then lift it from the rear and roll/push it in. Great for short tracks. 2 problem I see for long tracks:
1. my 162 is over 10 feet long. If the ramp is short you will have to hit it with some speed. :face-icon-small-sho
2. the wheels would catch on the tailgate gap when rolling in.

Cool idea though!

revarc, don't know how it would work in a lifted truck but have been using mine for years. has a traction piece that folds out on the ground so you can just put up and down it without spinning out at the bottom. they are about $350...

Bear track ramps are very nice units, thats what i have. it comes with slides installed and ready to use. i got the 50" wide one and use it for atv plus sled. I would buy the 48" one now though as ski stance on the MTN sleds is narrow.
jet chevrolet in washington sell them or look them up online.

Really like this! Saw these at the snow show last year. One thing that comes to mind is . . . how to keep it from getting stolen while out riding? Do you chain/lock it to your truck bed . . ?

yes i use a cable and a lock to lock it up. can't trust anyone these days...

i have a short bed so i bought a bed liner for a long bed and cut out the bottom. this covers my bed all the way to the end of the tailgate. works very smooth, keeps the carbides from getting hung up in the gap between the bed and tailgate. also keeps them from tearing up the bed.

I also use the revarc ramp. Works well for me. I took a piece of plywood and attached some ski guides on each side with some 1x1's for traction when I actually get up on the bed of the truck. I need to modify it slightly because I have a hard time getting the ramp under the sled when it is on the truck already due to it being a short bed truck.

I've been thinking about the rev arc ramps. Just wondering if there was any other good options. sounds like that may be the ticket for me.

Thank you

I bolted a 2x6 to the bed liner near the end of the tailgate to keep the track up off the liner so I can slide the lip of the ramp in and out. also gives me traction.
