Rally on the Denver Capitol – Let the Kids Ride! Do you even care?

Rally on the Denver Capitol – Let the Kids Ride! Do you even care?

I’m sure that you’re aware by now that the recently enacted Consumer Products Safety Commission Improvement Act has essentially banned the sale of motorcycles & atvs designed for ages 12 and under. This even includes selling parts for these bikes. We all know that kids just don’t lick, suck on or ingest parts of or entire motorcycles, so this law has virtually a zero % probability of protecting our kids and has a 100% probability of costing jobs and denying our kids their right to ride.

There is amended legislation being proposed, but we’re far from out of the woods on this one. The CPSC does not have the ability to grant exceptions for these vehicles and the very congress the passed this bad piece of legislation is focused on other issues (bailing out the idiots that caused our financial mess) and even so, there is some pride to be swallowed to get an exception passed.

ThumperTalk refuses to “hope” that our cries are heard, so we’re doing all we can to point our members in the right direction about how to get involved on this issue. One particular effort is a Rally on the Denver Capitol scheduled for 04/23 @ 11:30am, west steps. We need you to come and if you have kids, we need them too. We need hundreds of riders and their kids, all dressed in riding gear (bring helmets so the public associates the rally with motorcycles/atvs). Bring signage with appropriate messages for our legislators, the media and the public. The goal is to raise awareness that this senseless legislation is costing jobs, trampling on the rights of kids and parents and that reform is needed now.

Even if you can’t come, please, tell all you know. We need our Colorado members to help us with recruiting. If a dozen of us show up, what message will that send?

NOW IS THE TIME TO STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHTS, THE RIGHTS OF YOUR BROTHERS/SISTERS AND FOR THE KIDS! LET’S GET INVOLVED COLORADO!

Kind Regards,

there has got to be some kind of "little people" loop hole here............

I mean what will the world do without midgets on motorcycles!?!?!?!?!

This whole thing has nothing whatsoever to do with child saftey.

It's the left wing whack jobs who want to make everything wilderness wanting to "ween" us off our ATV's and whatnot so to speak.

They figure if they can get the government to take them away from our children, when they grow up they will less likley to be enthusiasts.

I started riding a Yamaha 340 when I was 4 years old. I would have no problem buying my mid a similar 340 to avoid the "youth ban".

That’s it right there. They are re-programming society by
going after kids! The didn’t just ban MC’s and ATV’s, they banned the kids gear also. No youth helmets… nothing!

When I was 7-10yrs old, I had a KX90 and a John Deere liquifire 440. Dad even let me rife the Kawaski 440 Invader!
