Radiator Delete on 06 600

A good friend of mine is experiencing some cooling issues on their Switchback. Seems the radiator packs with snow and the coolant temps rise. Been like that since new and has always been somewhat bothersome.

Would a radiator delete fix this? I thought the idea behind the radiator delete was for better cooling, but figured I would ask some of you that know better than I.
Another question is the poor steering characteristics of this sled. It's a real fighter when you try to tip it or counter steer. I was thinking of giving them my old spindles from my 08 Dragon. Holz shows theirs fit from 05-9 so they should fit.
Has anyone done this or something similar and seen good results?
How about putting on a set of Gripper skis? I would think that would be a good improvement as well.
thanks

Yes. Delete the radiator!!

The Holz spindles really make the difference on the IQ's and unfortunately (for our wallets) are worth the money. The 08's might be a slight improvement over the 06's but IMO wouldn't be worth the labor seeing how we replace 08 and 09 spindles with Holz spindles.

Another big help would be to replace the front skid shock spring with the 225 lb spring available from Carls for around $25-$30. This is the cheapest thing you can do to fix this issue but the spindles will really make the most difference/improvement.

The gripper skis work well for trails and off in less than 2 feet. But off trail the PP's are the stink.

I just changed my wifes spindles out to the 09s and it steers alot better plus we took out the rad and run some stuff out of napa it is like wetter water but it comes in a quart instead of a gal her temps seem to stay around 126 deg.I also installed a thermostat out of 08 or 09 163 with the bigger bypass hole. She runs usi III threats skis.It is a 06 144 rmk.Hope this helps

Definitly delete the radiator, but make sure you have ice scratchers on the trail. Temp will stay around that 125 - 130 area. There is a post on here somewhere with good pics to show how to do it with a, I believe 1" round bar x 2" long and some hose clamps.

The best way to plug off the hole in the coolant reservoir is to purchase 1 inch rubber chair leg ends from Ace Hardware or your local hardware store.

I know of a few people who have hit or miss luck with the delete. It seems that the best way is to remove the entire loop and install the newer bottle. Sry that I'm being vage right now, I'm at work and I'm on my phone. But I'm sure someone can fill in where I left off.
