Race Trailer Floor Question

For all you racers out there with a nicer than average trailer, where does the coin mat or ribbed rubber flooring come from. It may be from the factory, but I am trying to outfit my new last year trailer and it currently has plywood. I have seen this stuff in the nicest snowcross haulers.

For those of you that have the rubber flooring, do the carbides dig in? Dolly the sleds in an out? Or put down plastic runners. At Hay Days there was a manufacturer there for trailers that had a rubber/plastic floor that was already adheared to the plywood floor.

What do you guys have and how well does it work?

I have rubber mat in mine. It covers aluminum floor and I drive in and dolly out, no front door, picks and carbides don't bother it. Be careful putting it over wood, you might trap moisture in between the mat and the wood will rot. Les Schwab Tires our west has the rubber mat, good luck

floor coverings ?

I have a enclosed Featherlite brand trailer that was Linexed when it was new, 3 seasons ago . Linex is the only product I found that won't tear from carbides. The particle board floor was sanded ,sealed, screws puttied or filled then the floor was sprayed as well as 18" on the sidewalls,to keep moisture out of the floor. I love my trailer and plan to keep it a long time hopefully forever. This process is expensive but I feel will outlast the rest of the trailer.:D

This is what we have in our semi trailer. Plastic over the plywood then the tiles. We do take it out after every year to dry out though. Carbide does not cut it at all and i think it has like a 5 yr warranty or so.

I like that! Here is another option that I found. They said that it has been used in this application, but they havent gotten feedback to see how it works. They are sending me a sample. Their concern is carbide, not studs.

On your trailer, do you put down plastic sheeting for water-resistance, then the tiles over that? Do you attach the tiles to anything but themselves?

Yup exactly! And nope... just attach them to themselves... works real good!

i used cow matts. they are corregated on one side and flat on the other. they work great and are not too expensive. i would definatly seal that wood floor before putting these on top. but they are very durable studs and carbides do not cut or puncture
