race fuel questions

so i am running 112 in my sled. it won't fire when it's cold out, just trying to find some ideas on keeping the fuel/engine warm on the trip to the mountains on the sled deck. most of the time i use a friends heated enclosed but will not be able to use it for the next trip.

just have a little premium in it for the way there and start it let it warm up. then fill it with race gas.

how safe would it be to start on premium if i had it turned up to say 20 lbs and running 116

You should be pulling a few pounds of vacuum at idle and could run 87 and still be fine. Just make sure you burn it all out before you hit the gas!
