Hello Everyone!
Ryan and I have been very busy this spring & summer. One of our projects that we are proud to have completed is a video that we did showcasing some of the issues facing our National Forest Lands. This video was intended at the beginning to be a 5 or 10 minute 'commercial' for our website, but it grew as our producer saw the problems, as well as my and Ryan's passion for wanting things to change. Unfortunately, You Tube only allows for 10 minute uploads, so the 35 minute video must be watched in sequence in 4 segments, so bare with us and please watch it in it's entirety.
Please realize that this 'story' is from our perspective as a helicopter logging company and small sawmill. There are many quality ways to harvest timber - tractor logging, skyline, etc. Helicopter is not always the answer, but it is definitely a way to reach areas not conducive to traditional logging means or areas which require less of a foot print on the ground. If we took some of the unlimited funds the Gov't sets aside to fight fire and put some of them into the preventative maintenance of the forests; harvesting, cleaning up the forest floor, etc., we would so much better off! Regardless, our Forests are in severe danger, our country has a vast resource to pull from and it is not necessary to import logs/lumber from other countries while ours is going to waste. Let's strengthen our US economy, put folks back to work and stop being dependent on other counties for our natural resources!
