I've read that there have been issues with certain vent kits, and wanted to share my experience with the vents I installed on my Pro-RMK. My dealer suggested them when I picked up my sled, and I have a friend who has used them on his Ski-Doo.
I have no affiliation with the company, other than that I paid full price for them from my dealer...
The vents are made by R&M Lightning, and they are made of a trampoline type polyester material stretched around an aluminum frame. I simply traced the cut-out area using the template that was provided with the vents, cut, and riveted the vents in place. Pretty simple install.
I've ridden 170 miles with them on, and especially the last two days in over the hood light powder without any issues whatsoever. They vent but don't let the snow in - and I've continued to check when we stop during the day to see if any snow is penetrating and no snow is getting through. I know the are venting heat, though - especially on the exhaust side.
Here are a few pictures. You can see that the lower clutch vent has some ice buildup on the outside, but none on the inside. You can also see some reflection of the aluminum frame through the black material.
Again, no association with the company, just hope to help those who are looking for a good vent solution.
