We all have had zero problems with our belts after 300+ miles of deep snow riding, we are very pleased with the belt drive so far. this sled is awesome!!!!

Three inches is about the contact length on the top gear. So hard braking on a moving sled, hard braking for an airborne sled, or a frozen track when you give it the gas, are a few of the possibilities for the failure scenario.

My quick drive belt completely stripped out at 125 miles. Had driveshaft clamps on since day one.

I was riding on/off the throttol, maybe up to 45 mph, in and out of groomed trail and about 8" in the ditches. I stopped once at about 4 miles in and checked it, It looked good then

Sounds like you were playing your cards right. Looks like there'll be some growing pains with the '13s. Hope you get some good life out of the 2nd belt.

Maybe those losing belts can measure the runout on the lower pulley, those with no problems do the same. I wonder if there is a correlation.:face-icon-small-win

q drive failure

Mine went today, thought my track was ratcheting. It did this many times and rode back to the lot to check it out. No missing cogs yet, went back out and the next time it did it stripped 3+ inches. My driveshaft has been clamped from day 1. 74mi today

Lets start off with a positive note.. I love this sled. I have 200km on it now and has been a blast every minute. My first major issue came up yesterday with what i thought was me hitting a stump, rock or possible the trac skipping.. took a look and found that my drive belt was missing one cog and two just hanging there.. also that the belt area was packed with snow (compleatly)... I will fix this by putting vents in the foot wells but you think polaris should have seen this and corrected it.. funny thing is , I rode for the rest of the day with it broke and no problems...

Would that snow be coming in the bottom old drain hole more, instead of the foot-wells?
