We are making a quick trip from Cali to Mt. Bachelor area since we are so short on snow.

Was wondering if anyone could give me a few gps points or areas to ride that have good boon docking and maybe some climb areas? Maybe a couple waypoints on google earth or something to get a good general area of some good riding areas. Only going to be there a day and a half so want to make it a good one.

Thanks.

Jeff

Moon Mtn. for climbing, boonedock on your way there, just stay IN-BOUNDS as it is monitored by gubmnt $$$ makers. Pick up maps at any of the sno-parks on the way to Bacholer or come in from Sisters-Three creeks, recommended warming hut and camp if your rough'n it!! Google, riding map, forest service map,GPS, and other riders are your best freinds. Have a great time it can be a great experience but I don't think you will have enough time to fully enjoy it's offerings but the weather IS at last looking more than promising. Enjoy a small part of OREGON, make some good memories, Freinds and picures to share!!! l<>l

So is Moon mountain the main climbing area? We are running turbos and like some steep stuff. Also is that about the best area to go boon docking?

Just want to make sure we hit some of the good stuff since we are only there a day and a half

You don't need turbos to climb moon.....sorry. Most stock sleds can conquer it unless the snow is super deep. Its just a popular spot because it's an open hillclimb with no trees. Climbing tumalo mt. will probably give you more of a challenge. Other then that you will have to go off trail to find yourself some climbing and boondocking through tree covered hills to have any fun...IMO.
Another option would be paulina peak if the snow conditions are good. I haven't been up there yet this year so I dont know what the rock exposure is like. just a thought.
Anyway enjoy your trip, be safe, and stop in at elk lake for a beer!

Diamond lake is an option. What's some good riding areas around there? Can't find a trail map to compare against Google earth

Thanks for the info for trail maps. Any good mountains to look at on say Google Earth for some good boondocking and climbing areas?

Anyone ride there lately, how's the snow at Diamond Lake?
