Quick questions for Chevy Guys

Are there any differance between the 2006 Duramx that has the Duramax emblem in red and the one that is blue??

I thought in 2005 they stopped the red and black duramax diesel emblem and switched to a blue emblem that says duramax diesel and allison transmision. They both have the allison transmission in them just one emblem is different. not sure if they changed anything in 2006 or not as far as the engine goes.

If the emblam just says Duramax diesel it has a 5 speed trany
If it says duramax allision transmission it has a 6 speed tranny

A little off topic, but, how much more hp/tq were they getting out of the Banks Power Packs? I saw one the other day that ran pretty hard!

Red emblem has a 310 hp motor with a 5 speed Allison

Blue emblem has a 360 hp motor with 6 speed Allison

I didn't think that you could get the LLY in 06??? I was under the impression that in 06 everything was the LBZ with the 6 speed allison. Could you get an LLY with the the 6 speed allsion in 06?

I saw an add on line for an 06 that had the red LLY emblem. They guy said that it had the 6 speed allison though. Is he crazy??

I'm running a Banks PDA on an 08, I like it much better than the Edge. Edge worked great on my 05. Just my .02

If you want to get technical, all the 06's have the LBZ block. The first ones released in 06 had a different engine tune then the later ones and were still considered a LLY, even though they were closer to a LBZ.

I don't think the "LLY" was ever mass released with a 6 speed tranny but I bet there were a few LLY's left on the production line when the new ally came out so maybe there are a few LLY's with the 6 speed. Also, some aftermarket companies make a 6 speed kit for the old 5 speed.

Now if only they would make a 7 speed for the 6 speed it would be game on!!!!
