Ok muzbomb, sorry it took a week.
Swapping out the stock to the pro rmk skis looks like the solution to my diving front end problem coming downhill. obviously other aftermarket would work as well, but i got these for free and even if they cost me $300 i would still buy them.

1. bottom of ski saddle, grind to two ridges for a more flat area to fit the cat rubber bumper. make sure its a snug fit so the bumper does not float around.

2. if your skis are in the narrow position like mine. the rubber bumper sits off to the side, so use an xacto knife and cut the bumps in the pic off halfway. THE CAT BUMPER HAS TO BE TURNED BACK WARDS TO LAY IN POLARIS SKI WHEN YOU CUT THE BUMPS OFF. (ITS THE SAME BACKWARDS OR FORWARDS SO NOTHING REALLY CHANGES ON HOW THE SKI FITS.

3. THE SKIS ARE WIDER SO YOU HAVE TO USE THE BOLTS FROM POLARIS SKIS. THEY FIT PERFECT, WHOEVER SAYS THEY DONT.... DONT KNOW S**T

4. DONE

$260.00 for red black or white? I wouldnt even think of buying another ski thats $350-500 unless your very wealthy.

These skis are 10x better than the stock cat skis and cant be much worse than any other aftermarket ski!

IMO anyone who wants to change skis, buy these.

Yep I just checked. $129.99 each (plus carbides). They're the same price for all colors.

They are $129.99 Each, so $259.98 per Pair. Carbide and shipping is additional.

I should add that is the online price and the suggested dealer price. So if they are asking more than that you are getting reamed.

Ski's

I just got through putting a set of new pro skis on my 09 m8. On these years of sleds in order to have the skis fit you have to drill out the bushings on the skis and then go to the local HW store and get 6in bolts. On these sleds the spindle bushing is a larger ID and the bolt is shorter. Have gotten a ride on them now and really like them Need to try different conditions for a full review. Oh I picked these skis up as takeoffs from a new pro, the skis included carbides, bolts and the rubber saddle. 220.00

I just finished putting the gripper ski's on. For anyone interested a stock gripper ski to a stock proclimb ski is only 6 onces or so lighter. After I did a light "carl's mod" to the grippers they were 10 onces lighter than stock per ski.

So 1 1/4 lbs lighter total.

Not much or worth doing just for weight but for a considerably wider ski at least they're not heavier. Also the gripper's keel is 1/2" deeper than the AC ski, they measure 3" from bolt center line to bottom of ski, the AC's are 2 1/2".

They side hill in the garage a bit easier I think, lol.

One pound of ski weight is like 7 pounds of chassis weight(suspension working wise)

They changed the rubber bumper for '14. It now sits the entire width of the gripper ski saddle. Different nubs at the bottom of the bumpers have to be cut off on these to fit. Cut off the second row to the outside on both sides. The middle row is a tad deeper and just a tiny bit might need to be shaved off those nubs if the ski is too hard to get the bolt through (even with tool to align). Also shave off the raised area on the top side of the rubber so it's uniform with the angles on the top side of the rubber. Utility knife should do the trick.

Has anyone noticed their gripper skis bending or breaking the cross pieces out that are molded in the saddle area just ahead and behind the rubber bumper? A friend of mine that rides Polaris pointed out to me that it is pretty common for them to give out after a while and then your skis start pivoting too far. He gets a new sled about every year and I have noticed it on his sleds. Is the Cat bumper smaller so it doesn't put pressure on these and break them?

There is a thread in the Polaris section on this and the common denominator seems to be riding style. Some guys mash them, most don't. The opinion is that guys who mash them are over riding the sled, getting too far out in front of the sled with their body. I have a friend who literally can't keep the rubber bumpers in his Gripper skis and another friend who rides professionally for Polaris and has never hurt one. I would think the wider Cat bumpers would lessen the problem.

The pro rubber bumpers are junk. I cracked and mushed a set every 400 miles. The new 14 proclimb rubber bumpers are like 3x's as wide and fit even more snug. I see no reason why this ski saddle and bumper combo shouldn't last quite a while...

TTT? What are you looking for? There are other threads out there on this. I've posted a few instructions for fitment on this since this 2012 thread. Search for them.
