What does this thing look like in its packaging? Says to leave it in it until use, thought if i got one i will break it in but any who what does it look like? Can anyone snap a picture of a uninstalled belt in package.

The 14's come in a way bigger box, it's stupid. About 12x12x4 or 6". I'm going to try to find a snap lid container the same size as the belt to put it in, at least then I can also throw a first aid kit or something in there as well.

thats what i needed. didnt know if it was rectangular or a sleeve like the v belts come in.

was thinking of buying that bag cat has on their tunnel and trying to find a place to pop rivet it under the hood but it looks like it has to be kept round... ****ty.

Hopefully this 14 belt will be alot better and i wont need a spare.

My original belt still looks new after 1400kms, but I bought a spare just in case.
So what do you guys do with the new belt.? If you do carry a spare, do you break it in properly? Or do you leave it new in the box till needed? Pretty hard to break in if you're way back in the hills.

sorry...original question......belt came in carboard box (way too big), so was resized to fit better.

thats what im wondering? You should probably break it in and put it back in the stock box and i guess keep it in the truck.

no reason it cant be kept in a oval shape in that cat bag its in a pear shape installed on the sled.

I think im stilll going to look into running that cat belt bag under hood and having the tools on hand.

Spare Quick drive belt.

Someone on here suggested putting the spare quick drive belt in a cookie tin. I found one on amazon. It fits like it was made for it. Plus I can keep the two tools that are used to replace the sprockets on, plus a lot of small items in the can. doesn't take up much room. I have a Braundt tunnel bag and it fit right on the bottom ,my snobunje fits right around it. Measure the diameter of the belt the height of it, then go to amazon and type in cookie tins. They list the tins by size. Find one that fits and now your belt doesn't get damaged.

I put mine right in my Avy pack (snowpulse vest), bare belt just set it in there and put spare gloves and clothes ect around it...rode all last season like that it never got tweaked, deformed or bent, I pulled it out at the end and it's the exact same form when I pulled it outta the box...you don't have to be so anal about it...just don't smush it in there or cram hard heavy stuff around it

mine gave out pretty deep in the back country; luckily towards to top of the hill. after we put the new one on i was able to slowly ride down about 1 mile coast with minimal braking. at the bottom there was a decent sized flattish field that i did loops on for around 5 miles part throttle to get some heat into it.

it been a few hundred miles since and its been fine. we keep a spare in the trailer in the cardboard box.

Agree 100%, the belts are quite stiff and hold their round shape well, obviously not good to fold them but I think they are fine in a bag or backback. I intend to zip tie mine under the hood somewhere

back pack sounds good being im not filling my pack like years past. just avy/emergency gear. everything else on the sled.

Owning a cat looks fun

It works out pretty good. I usually stuff my extra gloves, face mask, and two water bottles in the center of the belt so it doesn't bend. I have road with that spare for 300 miles and had no problems yet.

Im thinking of getting a round cookie rubber made container and putting it in that, then putting that in my bag. And pop riveting a tool bag inside it for the removal and install tools.
