I am interested in hoping on the 1 ski band wagon but have a few questions
1. do you have to change motor oil after every ride due to moisture? a few people have mentioned this to me
2. how hard is it on a motor (i.e. does the motor have to be rebuilt after a season?)

Thanks for any help!

1. Temperature will dictate this issue. Let your bike warm up between breaks (don't just start it and take off), install a plastic or carbon fiber skid plate to help keep snow off the bottom of the motor, and install a thermostat to help get temps up. If the oil is grey you will want to change it... otherwise I usually change every 8-10 engine hours (2-3 rides).

2. You will NOT need to rebuild the motor every season. Summer months are harder on these motors than winter months. Yes, we spend a lot of full throttle time in the winter, but the air is extremely clean (no dust or dirt particulate) which helps to promote longevity.

I would like to know how many hours a bike can take as a snowbike. Obviously it will be different from model to model but I think sevice intervals will be diminished on all bikes compared to normal use.
