questions/opinion about alltitude compensaters

im looking at putting an altitude compensator setup on my 02 700 rmk... ive heard some different things about them and just wanted to know a few more opinions about em from some more people that have used it or heard anything about them.. any input would be great
Thanks, Lane

i usually ride on the flat lands of estern mt, so its like right at 3000, but was thinking about getting the comensator cuz we went to taylor fork and climbed 4-5k feet in elevation from the parking lot and after that the sled was dogging it and couldnt do a whole lot... i had it jetted and weighted pretty close to what it shouldve been

I use Holtzman Variflow.

Works GREAT.

I know they also make an automatic product too tghat you don't have to turn a dial when you go up in elevation or air temps.

Ran the Holtzman ATACC system on an 01 800 AC, worked great!
Once you have it set correctly you can just forget about it.

I had one of these on my 02 RMK and it was very good. Was able to ride the fields and ditches around home at 2000 ft. then go ride at 7000 ft. without adjusting any jetting.

no experience with the holtzman so my opinion is a wash. i'll still give it to ya though. Get good at changing jets cause i haven't been around one that works.

I personally had the HOLTZMAN ATAAC on my 2 POLARIS EDGE's (2001-600 + 2002-800) and installed them on 3 of my bud's 800 EDGE's that ride with us in our group.

Ran them in the Midwest @ 1200' and YELLOWSTONE area and back and performed flawlessly.

Before that, I use to play the jet changing game, now that's a thing of the past......

One of the most impressive products on the market, period!

I currently ride a 2007 D7, and the HOLTZMAN ATTAAC carbed sled was more "in tune" than the current C.F.I., I.M.O.

Same here. I had ATAAC on one of my old sleds and could go from 1,300 ft to 10,000 ft with not problems. Just get it jetted for the lowest elevation and coldest temp that your going to ride at and you shoul be good. You will have to watch out if you take a really long trip at high elevation, like over a week. It can start to change and get doggy like you didnt change jets. If that happens just take the tubes off and reattach them when you get back you your base elevation.

I had one on my 02 zr 800 that had a single pipe on it and it worked awesome. Does anybody know how well they work on modified sleds my current sled is big bored with a +4 timing key and 13-1 compression im debating if I want to use one on there

anyone know if there is one of those for the ski doo's, have a 583 ski doo and those stock altitude compensators go bad, and they cost a small fortune for one now. Would like to find something more reliable and maybe not quite so expensive, i guess i wouldnt mind paying for them if they would last.

The HOLTZMAN ATAAC and Tempa-Flow work on ALL brands.

Give Barry Holtzman a call, he's in Eagle Rver, Wisconsin, and he actually answers the phone.
