Questions For Oregon Riders

Why are there only 218 Oregon members of SAWS?
Are we so blind to the fact that the enviro nazis are winning the land use battle? Have you never thought that YOU might lose your favorite riding area?
I have not lost any riding areas personally, and hope that I never do; but we are here to fight for all of our riding areas and not just our own. Without your help, we WILL lose our areas. How many of you know anything about the proposed Lewis and Clark Wilderness around MT. Hood that will potentially lock up 216,000 acres of public land?
I challenge you all to join SAWS and learn about the land use fight that is going on around all of us. Every weekend you go riding for the rest of the winter, set aside $10 dollars from the $100+ dollars you are going to spend and send it in to SAWS to help fund these fights.
Washington has 785 members so lets step it up fellow Oregonians.

Rant Over

Hey Ted I agree with you I will join and pressure my friends to do the same and I think we need to get the dealerships involved. They should want to help they have a lot to lose. Maybe have some flyers explaining it all and some membership applications. I am in C.O. area. Lets get the pressure going.
Thanx, JB.

JB1000, Thanks for the support we need all we can get.

We have had 13 new members sign up since I posted this here. Thank you too all that have signed up.
Remember, SAWS is FREE. You are not required to do anything or donate anything. We do ask that you give us a moment of your time every so often to voice your opinion to your congressional representatives either by making a phone call, sending an email, or sendinga letter. We even put together the letter in most cases, all you have to do is personalize it and send it. If you feel like donating a few dollars here and there, those funds are sent to the people that are fighting for us like the BRC for example.

Signing up is EASY!

I finally signed up! I've been putting it off because I figured there was some long and involved form... there wasn't! Name, address, email. It took 10 seconds! I encourage everyone to go sign up ASAP!!

Good questions Tedd

I ask similar ones.....

While the response has been phenomenal so far, why aren't even more people participating on a discussion forum that is run in Oregon for Oregon snowmobilers specifically? For only being a few weeks old H2Oregon.com is exceeding everyone’s expectations, even in its infancy it has more daily activity than the Oregon forum here at Snowest. But I know there are thousands more Oregon snowmobilers out there still to join.

So join SAWS to take a step towards protecting your sport and the good times it brings, and join H2Oregon to share them with other Oregon snowmobilers.

Well, in just over a month we have raised our Oregon membership from 218 to 245. In 39 days we have had 27 people sign up. Not exactly what I was hoping for, but we will take it none the less. With the recent defeat (for now I might add) of the Lewis and Clark Wilderness Bill, we should feel lucky to have the lands that we do have to ride on. Both Wyden and Smith have vowed to get this bill pushed through as part of larger bills that will not have the opposition of one congressman that saved this one. I suggest we all by a lottery ticket, cause our luck is about to run out when it comes to wilderness and land closures.

Tedd we need A LOT more people like you man im suprised that with how much money thats floatin around in this industry that the enviromentalists are still overpowering us. On Mt. Bachelor alone they are trying to narrow us down to one snow park! When we already have trouble finding parking! There is no way im letting them shut us out of those mountains i want my kids to ride there one day!
