Questions about Wolf Creek Pass

A group of us are heading up to Sheepshead cabin this weekend and I've never rode down south. Hows the snow down there? I've looked at the avy reports and it looks a little sketchy. Any must places I need to try to find or any places I need to avoid? We are also using my old VK widetracking pulling a realy big sled behind it, do you guys think I'll have any problems getting this into sheepshead? The sled trailer is 45"wide 6ft long with a 4ft tongue and has 8ft x12" polly skis and will be loaded with fuel and gear for ten people plus a 120qt cooler.

Sheeps head is fun with good skiing right out the front door. With all the snow down there you will have fun.

Towing the sled may take a bit of work to get up the last half mile but if you know how to build a road with the other 10 sleds it will not be a problem - just give yourself time as the cabin is 20 ish miles back. 10 people will fill that cabin to capacity for sure! The first 15 or so miles is a good groomed road.

Not sure how you are planning to access it are you going in from the Del Norte side or the south fork side? If you dont have a bunch of great big trailers we use the park creek trailhead just out of South Fork.

You are stoked but give yourself time to get in there. There was about 4 feet of snow yesterday so yea you guys are in for a good time! Cant say enough good about Sheeps head the owners are super cool and the cabin in plush.

The only thing I would advise you to bring a lantern or two as everything in the cabin is battery operated a gas lantern is nice.

If you need any other info let me know - yea you guys are super stoked as it will be a great weekend!
