I am thinking about buying a turbo nytro with a mcx turbo and am wondering how people are liking them, any lag, any problems, what is general overall opinion of the mcx. thanks

Do It!

You can't beat the gas and go reliability of the MCX, ride it hard and forget about wrenching. I will be honest mine has a bad stumble upon acceleration but i have been told this is not an MCX problem but is a factory yammi problem, even with that its still better than anything IMO, I am sure there are kits that make more juice and will kick my *** but i have yet to see any and to be honest if there was one i'd still ride MCX, I have 550km's and have only had the hood/panels off to snoop around and see whats in there!

Cheers

if these machines are having a stumble problem why would you reccomend it. Why would it be a yami problem if it didn't do it before. I have that kit coming but don't try to full yoourself into thinking you aren't dissapointed with that stumble LOTS. if its yamis problem what can you do about it

its rich on the bottom, thats whats causing it, and no I am not satisfied with the stumple, but I think it can be cured, I have talked to my dealer and he is talking to yamaha, and mcx is looking into it as well. its a fuel problem so a remapping should be able to take care of it. and from what I have heard its not just the mcx kit experiencing it.

If your a/f readings are rich in the bottom end it will stumble, mine did the same. I got a new reprogramed pro-logic box and it was awesome, night and day, way more responsive no more stumble, 11'sand 12's all the way through the throttle.

I am getting 10,s at an idle, hopefully I can get it leaned out, once it cleans out it pulls hard.

I rode the Impulse Turbo the other day, it is a mid-mount, seems to be really well put together, well thought out, has no lag, incredible bottom end and smooth all the way through.

It was a lot of fun to ride, might be nice to have a little longer track under it, the sled has so much power at 14lbs it really really wants to wheelie. Has no problem climbing very well but will climb better with a longer track keeping the skis closer to the snow.

ok this is top secret!! in your nose cone area you will find a single wire in a white connector.. remove connector and ground wire, then turn on key and depress both buttons on dash. navagate through menu till CO appears then chose cylinder 1,2, or 3. change setting to -15 on all cylinders. ride sled and see if bog is gone if not change to -17 or -20 ect.
you didnt hear this from me :face-icon-small-ton

The Mcx fuel mapping is over the top of the factory mapping. Yes it is the yamaha mapping that is making the lean stumble, BUT it is the job of the Mcx mapping to compensate for that. Yamaha is not going to remap just for us. In any case an update is due from Sweden, either today or tomorrow. Will it work? Time will tell.

hear, hear

I learned this the hard way. Over a year until someone even mentioned to me anything about CO reading and it's impact on fuel delivery. Thanks HAB. It is on the agenda for tomorrow.

stumling

Have any of you guys that are having stumling probs looked into the dyno jet power commander III. It is designed for sport bikes, but might work w/ the nytro. Just a thought.

Co adjustments.

IMHO if you are going to play with CO settings, you should run a wideband. Like Snowy1. Otherwise you may miss the sweet spot and potentially hurt your engine. I know, I know it is at very low loads, but maybe I am fussy....
