I know from reading that Timbersled is the hands down best for the West Coast powder. I live outside of Salt Lake and have the chance to buy an explorer kit for 1900 brand new. Is this a waste of money or a good way to get started and upgrade later? Would the timbersled be 3000 better? I wanted to see if I enjoy it before dropping that much money. But on the flip side I don't want to get turned off. What are the thoughts?

Explorer kit

I have a 2moto kit, which is supposed to be worlds better than the explorer. After watching video of the Timbersled, I am wanting to sell my 2moto. There is no comparison. The timbersled has better deep snow ability than the other kits available. Please don't get the explorer, skip past the 2moto (great kit that got me hooked, but surpassed by the timbersled), do your self a favor and just go right to the Mountain Horse, anything else will be a disappointment.

I've ridden all 3 kits and the Explorer is a piece of crap that isn't worth $5 in my humble opinion.

The 2moto is a solid unit, but not as deep snow friendly as the Timbersled.. The timbersled simply works in deep snow, but not knowing where you are or what you ride, a 2moto MIGHT be something to consider, especially a used kit at a smoking deal.

For that kind of money you should be able to find a used 2Moto kit.
