Question about straightening rod??Doo 800ho crank

So I bought a supposed to be, Trygstad built and balanced crank for a 800ho rev motor, from a fellow snowester on here. Started final assy of topend and have some strange binding while turning motor over by hand. After closer exam and checking clearances of piston to cyl wall, ring end gap, and cylinder final plate dimension, we have reached the conclusion that pto side rod is very very slightly bent. It is causing the piston to bind in the bore. Top edge of piston is tight and opposing bottom portion of skirt is tight. My question is have any of you ever straightened a rod like this with any success? It sounds scary to me but I have never encounterd a bent rod before. Obviously we would brace the rod and secure it so as to not put any side load on lower rod bearing. Any input would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

don't straighten...

Very high probability of failure if you mess with it. It could already have stress cracking from being bent the first time. Buy a rod kit and do it correctly. cases, cylinders, heads are too expensive to take a chance on trashing.

Don't even think about it, I wouls check the crank out for proper assembly that could be the issue as well.

Don't do it!! The fix now is cheap compared to what it will be if ya try and straighten it!!! I have tried it before and it will fail!! Just my experience to a tune of a thousand bucks!
