question about seat fitment

I am looking to replace the seat on a 2003 550 rmk because of tears. I have found a seat nearby for sale fitting a 2002 700 rmk. will the seat off of the 700 fit onto the 550? I want to say the '02 700 is edge chassis but think the 2003 550 is a gen 2?? can anyone help out?

I think you are correct that the 700 is the edge chassis. The 550 is possibly on the earlier Gen l design with an integrated seat/tank.

can you try to get a seat and tank combo deal? then you know the seat mates with the tank. just a thought, I put a Fusion seat and tank on my old Gen I, just needed to drill new mount holes and make a bracket to hold the front of the tank down.

Its atleast another option if you run across a good deal.
