Question about pinhole in weld on y-pipe

I recently purchased a new exhaust system for my M8 and took it out for it's maiden run today. No leaks from the donuts or from the exhaust gasket area. But there appears to be a small line of oil originating from the weld area where the y-pipe is welded to the base flange. Actually two pinholes the other is right across from it. Both are on the PTO side.

Is it worth sending the y-pipe back and getting another set of gaskets and going through the pain of loosening and tightening those bolts from hell (real tight area to reach) or is there something I could put on it to seal it up or maybe even put a tackweld over the area in question? I mean it is only a pinhole based on the amount of oil leaking, your thoughts.

See if they will send you another one so you don't have down time.

All I can say if its like a pinhole now could it get bigger in a month, a year , maybe fail while out in the snow?

If you put in a small grinding bit in a dremel and took off about 1/8" of the ceramic coating around the hole, a MIG welder could easily shoot the hole closed with zero difficulty (if you have access to one). You don't need to lay down a bead, just spot weld the hole closed.

Another idea, drill out the holes with a tiny drill bit, and put a tiny stainless sheet metal screw in each one, and just torque that down, small enough so it doesnt screw up the flow, if your worried about tig welds rusting.

Don't fix it if its new. Contact the company and make them send you a replacement. If they don't, post on here about it so we can all know about poor quality and poor customer service.

A long allen head ball socket makes taking those bolts of a lot easier. Get it done right. You just dropped some serious coin and would probably kick your self a year from now when the fix fails and your stuck buying a new y-pipe. It happens from time to time and the manufacture should take care of you.

Get a new one and ask for the cost to replace the gaskets and cover shipping. Shouldn't leak when new....that just demonstrates krappy welding IMO. Two pin holes means the weld sucks and didn't' penetrate...you will have more problems.
