Can someone please tell me from experience what the real difference is between the Tomahawk and the Valdez jacket? Besides the price... Is the Valdez that much better?

It has the better version of GoreTex (GoreTex XCR) Basically more breatheable and I'm sure some other things. To me personally the cut or style of the jacket fits me better, looks a bit more classy IMO. I guess it would be just their top of the line jacket with the better goretex is all when it really comes down to the difference.

I have had it since the 2003 season, wash it once every spring and re-treat it with ReviveX. Simply 100% satisfied.

The only differences are the goretex and the cut, the 400 dollar one has better goretex


I just went with the klimate jacket over my B-wear vest.
Works great.

it's a higher grade gortex and the cut is differen't like they are stating either way you making a good choice both will keep you really dry and keep moisture from building up if you have any more questions you could email me or call us

I have the tomahawk, love it... needs to be washed and waterproofed, but it's held up damn well and works great. No complaints with it, although I can't speak for the valdez having never owned one.

Valdez nylon shell is the thicker stuff too.

Valez is a step up. Love mine, wear it all of the time. Check out culater on here-bought stuff from him and he's great to deal with.
