q's on importing a lifted truck from the states

anyone have experience with this.. particularly into british columbia. i realize it has to be instpected, im just wondering if it makes it harder to import and pass inspection if the truck has a lift kit and larger tires. thanks for your time

Problem wouldn't be on this side of the boarder - as it is leaving.

You should contact the BC Dept of Transportation and ask how to go about importing a lifted truck.

Won't even allow a levelling kit through now...changed rules about a year ago. Have talked with border about it and even they don't get it but are very strict about enforcing it. Some good deals down there too on lifted trucks :(

i wouldnt even consider it. my dad recently looked into selling his 04 dodge diesel and buying a 10" lifted 06 on 41"s. looked like the grave digger, anyways after doing some research, in order to get it inspected it has to be stock, yes stock, so if he were to buy it he would have to take off all the goodies and get the inspection, then he would have to put all of it on.. he ended up putting a 6" lift in his truck and putting 22" boss rims on 37" kumo's. and man it looks great.

a guy i know imported a new gmc 2500 with 6" lift and 35" tires. Just pulled all the stickers off the lift pieces. never had an issue crossing the border or getting it inspected once back.
