Q's 09 700 RMK Gutting the air box & shaving the head

i got the slp air horn kit, is it worth gutting the air box or just leave it alone.

Does anyone know if you would have to reprogram the ECM if i shave the head. i want to shave it .010 or .020 to make up some compression out west.

leave the airbox alone, will cause problems if you gut it.

DO NOT gut the airbox. There are plenty of threads that covered this before. Install the SLP Air Horn Kit and call it good.

my stock 08 had a flatspot and it ran rich i gutted my airbox got rid of the flat spot and it ran a a lil better so obviously there is a cfm gain. but if your sled is spot on for tuneing and you gut the air box it will run lean. just like these other guys said dont do it, it worked for me maybe it didnt work for others
